Folkit

FOLKIT consists of three local musicians: Wayne Parsons, Charlie Payne and Shirley Montague, all with decades of music-making  experience. The trio was born out of an informal session where traditional tunes and folk songs floated from former set-lists. In keeping with the Labrador theme,  FOLKIT will be performing songs by various Labrador songwriters.

Wayne Parsons and Charlie Payne hail from Woody Point and have a long history of making music together. Shirley Montague’s musical roots were initially formed  in her hometown of North West River Labrador and followed her to Norris Point, her adoptive home.

FOLKIT delivers a light hearted approach to familiar music.
