Rob Gillard has had a lifetime of music. Growing up in the 80’s and 90’s Canadian rock scene, Gillard has been playing professionally since the age of 13, touring Canada for much of his career. Known for his talents as a front man lead guitarist and singer, Gillard found his musical start on a bass instrument, which continues to be a huge influence in his R&B/ Blues Funk style today. He is very musically diverse in different genres of music, playing a variety on instruments in several bands and recording sessions. Gillard has been a hired gun for major Canadian artists, sharing the stage with such chart toppers as Kim Mitchell. April Wine, Jann Arden, Stampeders, Thornley, Sam Roberts, Trooper, etc.

He has also had original songs featured in TV shows, movies, international marketing and Canadian Radio. Rob has spent the last several years honing his acoustic Country Folk style during his crowd pleasing solo performances. Rob Gillard spent time writing, recording and producing in studios throughout North America before moving to Nashville, Tennessee, where he produced and composed music in his recording studio, Big Bully Productions and Records.

Rob’s path ultimately lead him back to Newfoundland where he built PHIRP! Music and Recording Studio in its new location in George’s Lake, where he presently resides. He is currently working on his new sound, writing and composing music for his upcoming music projects, which will be produced at PHIRP! Music.
