Derek Allan Strong is a singer/songwriter born in Port aux Basques, and raised in Corner Brook, NL. He’s a retired RCMP officer who has lived and performed all over Canada, now lives with his family in Torbay, NL.
Derek started his musical life at age 5 on the stage of the Arts and Culture Centre in Corner Brook and has been actively involved in music ever since, including a career in radio broadcasting at CFCB. In the early 1980’s he was the lead singer for the popular Top 40 band “Hanover Fist”.
Derek’s newest release, “What If It’s Alright”, represents the beginning of his return to the music industry and you can see him all over St. John’s as he is regularly called upon to make appearances with his original music.
